You Should Probably Avoid Analogies That Compare Something Trivial To A P.O.W. Event That Killed Over 10,000 People
Just a friendly little tip from AA. I probably should have got this message out a week ago because someone didn't heed my warning. You'd think things like this would be common sense, but not for Reds Announcer Marty Brennaman...."Reds radio broadcaster Marty Brennaman issued an on-air apology Tuesday night for comparing the Reds' upcoming road trip to the Bataan Death March.Asshat. This is exactly what you should expect from someone in the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Hall of Fame. Also, be sure to watch Baseball Tonight this weekend when Jon Miller compares the New York Yankees Season to the genocide in Darfur! Good times.
As the Reds batted in the first inning, Brennaman said he wanted to make a "profound apology" for the remark about the trip, an 11-day, nine-game swing through Oakland, Seattle and Philadelphia that begins Monday. The remark was wrong, he said, "and I profusely apologize."
