Okay Joe, Now You're Going A Bit Overboard

When Joe Theismann spoke out about Monday Night Football last month I chalked it up to the ex-girlfriend theory. You're pissed and you bad mouth her right when she breaks up with you, but ultimately you know that it's pointless and you're only giving her what she wants.

After this initial breakdown there are two ways you can go about things. The right way is to just move on. As much as it hurts it's not the end of the world, and you may have more important things to occupy your time anyway. She'll want to try and be friends, but that crap never works. You just ignore her and move on with your life, she ultimately didn't deserve you anyway right? The second option (and wrong way) is to keep trying to call her, and whining to your friends about her. It'll be a joke to her and her friends and your friends just won't be able to stand you.

Well it looks like Joe has chosen option number two when it comes to his ex-job and co-workers....

"Personally? No, I don't like [the new MNF]. And it has nothing to do with the fact that I'm not there. I watch football games to learn and watch football. I see Ron Jaworski trying to do football. I see Mike Tirico trying to get back to football.

"I have no problem with Tony Kornheiser. He's just out of his element. He's a fish out of water. That environment, and that setup, is not conducive to watching football. And I look at it this way: ESPN, or Disney, paid 1.1 billion dollars annually to be able to broadcast football. And now you want an issue show. I think, to me, that's not the most sound business approach to take. I miss Monday Night Football."

While everything Joe is saying is the truth it just reeks of desperation. You don't need to make a name for yourself as being the bitter ex-Monday Night Analyst. Just look at Dennis Miller...he failed and he's never mentioned the gig since. And now he has his own show. Please Joe, we all agree with you but you're turning into that annoying depressed dumped guy.

Just get over it, and move on with your career so I can go back to making fun of your in-booth nonsense.
