Green Bay Will Be Void Of Any Sportscasters Soon

With the biggest story now missing from Green Bay, WGBA (based in Milwaukee) is ridding itself of every sportcaster that was located in the city. And with that move two of Green Bay's most prominent local hosts are out of the job....
Sports anchors Ted Stefaniak and John Burton will soon leave WGBA, Channel 26, Green Bay. The station's sportscasts will be done out of Milwaukee. Both Stefaniak and Burton have been with the network in some capacity since the mid 90s so I'm sure it's come as a shock to them. It's amazing that one man retiring is more than likely the cause of this. Sure they're going to say it's the dwindling economy to the news, but if Favre was still there I'm sure these two gentlemen would still be employed.
Their terminations were confirmed this morning by Jim Thomas, corporate marketing vice president for the Milwaukee-based Journal Broadcast Group, which owns the station.
“We’re going to begin producing the sports out of the Milwaukee newsroom (of WTMJ),” Thomas said.
Appearing on WGBA for sports segments in newscasts will be WTMJ’s Lance Allan, Rod Burks and Jessie Garcia. Those segments may be live or recorded.
