No, the announcers were not "properly prepared." They transparently mailed in the entire broadcast. They failed to do even the most minimal possible pre-game preparation, including who the FRICKING SCHOOLS' NAMES WERE AND WHERE THEY WERE FRICKING LOCATED!!!!! Neither one of those embarrassing people should ever, EVER be allowed within ten feet of a broadcast microphone again. EVER.

Here, here. I was in a live chat during the game, and could not believe my ears. I went to school for broadcast journalism, and want to some day do play-by-play, and I can guarantee I will not screw up the team's name of the game I'm covering.
