Why He's Here: The field in this tournament loves to see THIS GUY amongst the contenders. Whether he's trying to play it safe for a future job, or he's just the most positive man on the planet, Jon Gruden loves everybody. Gruden's love for QB's would be a bit more tolerable if he didn't love Terrelle Pryor with the same violent love as he did Drew Brees. And somehow he turned "this guy" into a go-to catchphrase.

I've always thought that Pierre McGuire was an awful, awful announcer.
My #1 favorites were Gary Thorne and Bill Clement and were the best team announcers. Bill really knew his stuff and Gary was close behind. I don't know what happened to Bill and I know that Gary is announcing baseball. Pierre is sleazy and you can hear it everytime he opens his mouth. I do not know why they keep him around. There are certainly others who can do the job but not Barry Melrose - he's too mouthy.
I have watched hockey my entire life and I automatically mute any game that Pierre McGuire is calling and listen to the internet radio feed. Saying Pierre McGuire is bad at his job is actually a compliment as there has yet to be a word made that describes how terrible at his job McGuire actually is
