Peyton And Eli Manning Star In Hilarious New DirecTV Football Cops Commercial

Written by Matt Yoder on .

Peyton Manning may be the most marketable athlete of our generation... and he has gotten every last drop out of it.  This newest DirecTV commercial is something like his 89,413th ad, but it is also one of his best.  In fact, I'd say it ranks right up there at the top with CUT THAT MEAT!  It chronicles the brothers Peyton and Eli as stars of the fictitious drama "Football Cops."  It's actually quite humorous and I laughed more in these two minutes than that entire awful cop movie with Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell.  Some highlights include a guy getting impaled by a football (impalings are always comedic gold), goofy fake mustaches, an Archie Manning cameo, and enough bad football puns to make Jim Nantz proud.  By the way, while we're talking NFL, please end the stupid lockout.  Here's the clip...

ESPN has always had their own agendas in terms of who and what they promote. The main thing is that it's all about being subtle. The Heat Index is not subtle though, it's just blatant extension of the Lebron and Heat hype and marketing machine.

I'm still of the opinion that James has nothing to apologize for.

I think it's preposterous that ESPN has "The Head Index". That's just blatant marketing/pr/ass kissing/ball licking. If the Knicks get a great point guard to make a Big 3, what are the chances they'll marketing soap box as well?

@fire joe buck you're surprised that ESPN doesn't have journalistic integrity? You should have seen what they did today with the death of the Alabama football player. They do many things well but class and integrity are not them
