Deion Sanders Describing LeGarrette Blount's Incredible Run: "Six People Trying To Hit That Blount!"

Written by Brady Green on .

LeGarrette Blount's 54-yard PutDaTeamOnMyBack (nsfw) run might be one of the highlights of the NFL football season. On the NFL networks highlight show, Deion Sanders delivered a call almost as hilarious as Blount's run was spectacular. After Sanders squealed in delight after delivering his "SIX PEOPLE TRYING TO HIT THAT BLOUNT" line, Eisen went all Nancy Reagan in response. Neon Deion decided not to heed the hosts caution and repeat the same line, this time even more exaggerated during the replay. The Packers were able to hit that Blount enough as Green Bay kept their undefeated season alive by defeating Tampa Bay, 35-26.

At Awful Announcing, we'd like to remind our readers that there is "no hope with dope." Zack Morris got with Kelly Kapowski and can stop time and that phrase rhymes so it would be crazy to argue against him.

I agree that Buck was fine during last year's Super Bowl. His voice sounds infinitely better than it did back in April during that Yanks-Sox series at Fenway, hopefully it will keep improving and get back to how it was during the Super Bowl.

Agree with the idea of adding Francona to a 3-man Fox booth. As for Buck, I didn't mind him clamming up to let the crowd tell the story. Before his throat ailment, he might've been more loquacious on that call and it would've sounded worse. Perhaps Buck was low-keyed because subconsciously he was hoping for a Red Sox-Yankees ALCS with better TV ratings and was tired of working with Francona (most of Terry's attempts at humor went over Joe's head). Watch the ratings dip even further with McCarver's return to the booth along with the prospects of a Texas sweep.

A playoff game ending on a Grand Slam? I see nothing wrong with what he did here. Not news to anyone he doesn't scream but letting the events play out for us to see was the right thing to do. Starting to think he is damned if he does and damned if he don't.

Does Joe Buck enjoy his job? This why I watch Fox Baseball Broadcast with the volume down. Sickening he does football too!

Totally agree with bflo360. I good broadcaster should make the initial call and then let the play speak for itself. Take in the noise of the crowd and feel of the stadium. Not everyone has to Gus Johnson. Buck is good PxP announcer not #1 team good, but very solid. Leave him alone1

You've got to be f***ing kidding me! Buck-good? If his daddy wasn't so goddam famous, Buck might be fourth in football given their current lineup and would take over Dick Stockton's slate of games for MLB. True, not everyone has to be Gus Johnson, but maybe you didn't read the article: this isn't a routine grounder to first, it's the first official walkoff grand slam in postseason history EVER! At least raise your volume a little bit, show SOME excitement. Clearly, Buck needs to learn that some plays are historic in context.

@hamlinfan93 I actually think Buck can show excitement or get you excited in his own, understated way.

Joe Buck is making baseball boring. No excitement....Buck might as well have just said.... "Look, I can go home now".

The broadcaster in baseball sets the tone of the game and unless you're a diehard Rangers fan, the call is just flat, unenthusiastic and banal. I'd rather have Gus Johnson calling the game. Too much excitement is better than none at all.
