The Chargers just lost a tough one last Monday to the Chiefs, but something in my loins tells me they overcome it to hand the Packers their first loss of the season. Something weird.

What will be interesting to see play out is if ESPN tries to roll the LHN into its package with its other channels (ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, etc.) during the next round of carriage negotiations.
This is absolutely disgusting!! The beauty of college football is the passion and love for the sport. And of course you have a few people who already have enough money being greedy and trying to squeeze a few more cents out of these kids. The obvious factor is that this move practically dismantaled the best conference in college football who has multiple teams in the top 25, all so ya'll can pad your savings account a little. When did college football become a privilege for a few who subscribe to that network. Also how about your die hard fans who live in other states and carriers won't provide the LHN!?!?!?! I just have to choose a new team after 27 years cause you want a little more case. We already have one of the most renowned symbols in all of sports with BEVO. ISN'T THAT ENOUGH!?!?!? Besides how many recruits might we lose cause there parents don't want to have to subscribe to a special channel to watch their kids play?
Shameful UT Leadership for allowing this to happen....Perhaps we need to try this when we break into the top 25. It is all about the money and nothing else! Disappointed Texas Ex!
But the recent ESPN Ombudsman column by Poynter seems to indicate that they believe ESPN is doing a good job of balancing the reporting aspect with the making money withe Longhorn Network aspect. That is another example of how poorly this Ombudsman has been in representing the public's interests with ESPN.
I watched the whole McConaughey open and want to throw up now. Also why is that video have 30 second of the logo at the end? It's called final cut pro.
The Damon clip at the end is great.
Bottom line, nobody wants the channel. Texas fans for the most part can live without it. The fact this is a $300 million partnership is laughable.
I called my cable provider and told them I'd pay them NOT to give me the Longhorn Network. Seriously.
No academic institution's athletic department should have it's own channel and be in bed with ESPN. There is no demand for it and it's burned way too many bridges already.
At what point does someone go "this isn't working. what do we do now?"
Not saying that will happen or anytime soon, but I think a lot of people are thinking it.
This makes me happy. Although I'm a Longhorn that comes from a long line of Longhorns, I hate the LHN. It's bad for college football and that trumps a few extra dollars for me. Heck, the 'Horns are already the wealthiest in college football already!
This was a terrible idea from the start. ESPN's involvement only hurt even more.
The pac 12 regional networks are also pretty stupid imo but at least they can run content from the parent pac 12 network.
You are totally right though. The Longhorn network has hurt their national image.
