Craig James is way too excited to be seeing Jesse Palmer. Awkward bromance or horrible Shining-esque slasher film in the making, you be the judge...
Elsewhere in the snafus this week, Ndamukong Suh was in the news for going into the principal's office to meet with NFL grand and supreme ruler commish Roger Goodell. According to Fox, a position change was also in order. How'd you like to be a receiver coming over the middle against safety Ndamukong Suh...
From our friend Willy Yoder comes Yahoo finally getting their act together in terms of his local Wizards updates. Looks like they've finally come to grips with the lockout...
Back to college football and two snafus from our friend Tim Burke from this week's Midweek MAC Madness. First, in the pandemonium of NIU 63, Toledo 60, it may have been easy for ESPN to have a graphical gaffe or two with the scoreboard ticking over so much. What makes this snafu great is ESPN happening to christen analyst Tim Brown "Tin." Here I thought that was Joe Buck's nickname...
The next night's game was a much lower scoring game. Ohio only managed one behind in their game with Temple midway through the 3rd Quarter (bonus points if you recognize which sport's scoring I just referenced).
And finally, Andrew Luck and Trent Richardson may be getting all the Heisman hype, but Firstname Lastname may have something to say before this season is all said and done...
That was your week in Screengrab Snafus, next time be careful out there!
Gus johnson is just obnoxious if you ask me.How can you enjoy his shouting when a guy makes a lay up 5 seconds into the game? If he only shouted during exciting parts then I'd love him. Instead he is just obnoxious and tries to make the game about him. No way he's a better announcer than Bill Raftery or Jim Nance.
@unSaintlysaint I'm pretty sure you've never listened to Gus Johnson call a game. If you had, you'd know his over-the-top shouting is actually pretty rare.
I'm pretty sure he has listened to Gus call a game because he echoes my exact sentiments. At the very least he has listened to him call a game on the obnoxious BWW commercial that needed to be retired two years ago. When Gus is good you hardly notice him, but that is what is rare. But, he does make it always about him. He's always shouting unnecessarily. I remember him calling a UA tourny game last year and shouting about a pick and roll "TURNS THE CORNER" at max volume for no reason. Gus Johnson is obnoxious.
I'm not saying there shouldn't be some an excitement in the call in that sort of fictitious situation with a guy scoring a TD as spinklers go off, I'm saying it's annoying and obnoxious. More so because it was old after a year, and how old is that commercial now?
I'll take something like "and now there's a steal by Bird! Underneath to Johnson, and he lays it in!" over the obnoxious type of Gus Johnson call where he says way too much and way too loud--something like "WATCHOT! OHH! UNBEEEEEEEEELIEEEEVABLE! HE'S GOT GETTIN' AWAY FROM THE COPS SPEED!" He takes away from the moment rather than adding to it.
"At the very least he has listened to him call a game on the obnoxious BWW commercial that needed to be retired two years ago"
Are you implying you wouldn't be yelling if a last second td was scored by well-timed sprinkler heads systematically taking out the defense? Because that would be craaazzzyyy.
Bummer you guys don't like Gus, but http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWdd6_ZxX8c
Although saying you like hearing Nantz call a game more than Gus is borderline blasphemous.
