Clearly, Tom Rinaldi has Ohio State on the brain. After all, why else would he be in Pennsylvania today, reporting on the Penn State scandal, and proceed to reference Ohio State twice! Some might excuse this as a silly mistake, and one slip up I can understand. But two in the course of 30 seconds? Clearly, this shows ESPN's anti-Ohio State bias! (At least to the rabid Bucknuts that drove Kirk Herbstreit out of Columbus.) After all, ESPN consistently led the charge to bring down Coach Sweater Vest earlier this season. But of course, it's insane to compare the situations of Penn State and Ohio State... or Penn State to anything in college athletics. And yet, it's clear Tom Rinaldi wishes he were on campus in the Buckeye State instead of anywhere near Penn State. If Tom Rinaldi is this conflicted, I can't imagine what Urban Meyer must be going through now as the future head coach of Ohio St. or Penn St... depending on who you ask.
I can't believe Joe is aware he sucks. I figured Fox did all they can to keep him away from social media and blogs. Why can't he take it upon himself to improve if he knows he sucks? Do us all a favor Joe and go back to Indiana to finish your degree, please! And if you still suck, maybe you should watch ESPN Sunday Night Baseball and try to imitate Dan Shulman.
Not only doesn't Joe Buck know the score, we don't either thanks to Fox's proclivity to place the score/balls and strikes and outs box in the upper left-hand corner of the screen. The left half of it is obscured. Maybe its only us nonHD peons it happens to but last night we knew the Cardinal score but as far as we were concerned the Rangers were scoreless. When is sumbody gonna do sumtin'?
Did anyone notice how Joe referred to the Gateway Arch as the St. Louis Arch??? And he is a native!! Almost as bad when some other announcer called it the "Golden Arch"....Was it annoying Al? Perhaps Summeral?
Anywho, Joe is annoying, and is simply a "bornwell". Hundreds of better, and more humble, broadcasters exist.
Truthfully I went and searched for an MLB International Stream, but too much buffering led me back to Rangers Radio (Eric Nadel and company).
Aside from being a complete corporate lickspittle, what makes Joe Buck so terrible as an announcer is that his tone of voice is absolutely cheerless. If he was describing the unearthing of remains from a grisly massacre he'd be perfect, but it's Baseball. His grim, cheerless monotone stands in utter contrast to the game. But then we know he doesn't even enjoy Baseball.
ironically he said that sorry with more emotion than we've ever seen from him since that Miracle in New Meadowlands where he accidentally got excited about DeSean Jackson's punt return....in his own way...
