Joe Morgan: Fired ESPN Announcer, World's Largest Chicken Dance Leader

Everyone's favorite ex-ESPN announcer Joe Morgan is finding interesting ways to keep our attention since having his face removed from the AA Rushmore. He started by getting his own sports talk radio show. Ha! Nobody listens, though, so there hasn't been much to say on it. Joe Morgan's next move is leading chicken dances. No, he's not coming back to Sunday Night Baseball; these are real live chicken dances, apparently. This Morgan gold comes via The Enquirer (H/T tipster Steve):

Reds great and Baseball Hall of Famer Joe Morgan will lead the annual World’s Largest Chicken Dance at Oktoberfest next Saturday.

Morgan, a 10-time All-Star and National League MVP in 1975 and 1976 when the Reds won back-to-back World Series titles, is the second former Red to lead the Chicken Dance, joining Joe Nuxhall, who did it in 2007.

The dance will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17, on Fountain Square.

The organizers of the chicken dance say they were drawn to Morgan because of the way he would flap his back arm while hitting, almost 30 years ago. You can't make that stuff up. At least this will undoubtedly give rise to stuffjoemorgan.com.

You had me until "tape delay"

@Lee_Zy I totally agree with you 110 percent. Don't these dumb asses at FOX know that no one will watch a tape delayed game when the we know the final of the game. Plus the game they show tape delayed one can find on the internet from England and catch the Sky Sports Commentary.

I wish that ESPN would get the entire EPL American TV Rights where they can show a couple of matches on ESPN Networks and the others on pay per view as they do with College Football and Baseball. The same would be for The UEFA Champions League away from FOX Soccer Channel.

ESPN Coverage of the Men's and Women's FIFA World Cup and their Barclay's Premier League Coverage is top notch.

Now I am not an ESPN fan due to the farce of Craig James and the dirty tricks toward Mike Leech and the so called suspension of Bruce Feldman.

However, I will give ESPN kudos for when it is deserved.

FOX sports couldn't care less what we all thought of their Champions League dumbed down coverage. I expect more Michael Strahan segments comparing football to futbol and funny ha ha moments with a Terry Bradshaw cartoon explaining offsides rules. And don't get me started if there's a Frank Caliendo segment as well. Yup, I see a debacle taking shape. And if you think they'll change as the season goes on... remember... this is still FOX.

@Lee_Zy Fully agreed, Fox pulls the same crap with NASCAR and anything that isn't their immaculate NFL. (I'm a big NFL fan, but I have to point out the facts here) They treat every other sport like a joke and make fun of it rather than promoting it as a serious sport.

Tape Delayed Premiership games are not going to work and once again FOX Screws up Soccer. Leave Soccer to the Professionals at ESPN
