Fox adds Mike Martz and Heath Evans as game analysts

Written by Dave Kelsey on .

Fox Sports has recently provided its announcing teams for the upcoming NFL season, and they've got some new additions to the squad. This year’s newcomers are former NFL head coach and Super Bowl winning offensive coordinator Mike Martz as well as former NFL fullback Heath Evans. Both of whom will serve as game analysts.

Martz is known as one of the most innovative play-callers in NFL history, and the mastermind behind the Super Bowl champion St. Louis Rams "Greatest Show on Turf." Most recently he was offensive coordinator for the Chicago Bears. Evans worked for NFL Network last year after a 10 year career, including a Super Bowl with the New Orleans Saints. The pair replaces Chad Pennington and Jim Mora respectively in the booth.

It should also be noted that famed reporter Erin Andrews is joining the network as well. Andrews will contribute to the network’s Thanksgiving Day Games, and Fox's NFC playoff coverage.

Other than the new additions, the other Fox announcing teams will stay the same, which means yes - another year of Dick Stockton.  The full list of teams is after the jump...

1) Joe Buck, Troy Aikman & Pam Oliver
2) Kenny Albert, Daryl Johnston, Tony Siragusa
3) Thom Brennaman, Brian Billick & Laura Okmin
4) Dick Stockton, John Lynch & Jennifer Hale
5) Chris Myers, Tim Ryan & Jaime Maggio
6) Sam Rosen, Heath Evans
7) Ron Pitts, Mike Martz

CBS has a much better stable of NFL announcers than Fox. It seems that every year Fox tries to add a couple new people here and there hoping it will help things get better, but nothing ever changes. This year it's these dudes. But hey, at least Fox has Erin Andrews going for them.

Gus Johnson and Charles Davis, instead of having a Sideline Analyst in Tim Brewster, they will have a sideline reporter in Julie Alexandria working College Football for FOX with them this year!!!

For FOX and FX Craig Bolerjack will still be working with Joel Klatt and Sideline Analyst Petros Papadaikas!!!

For FX Justin Kutcher will be woking games with Eric Crouch and sidelne analyst Darius Walker!!!

For those of you that were curious, Jim Mora normally worked as 1 of 2 analysts on Dick Stockton's announcing team for select games in 2010 and worked as the only analyst for select games on the NFL  on FOX  the last 2 seasons and Chad Pennington was the #7 analyst for the NFL on FOX last year!!!

The FOX line-up is terrible, might be better if they dumped Dick Stockton for Craig Bolerjack or something.

I would almost rather not watch a game at all than watch it on Fox.
