The Daily Show Parodies Hard Knocks
Known for having a dramatic tone that livens up the grueling nature of NFL training camp, the Hard Knocks style of sports documentary has over time been replicated across other shows, sports, and networks. You can definitely see similarities spanning shows like 24/7, Caught Looking, and The Franchise.
With Hard Knocks in full swing and the sports documentary genre in somewhat of a golden era, The Daily Show took it upon themselves to apply the signature style of Hard Knocks into a correspondents segment chronicling their training camp for the upcoming Republican National Convention. Serving as the Correspondents "tune up" for the convention, they invade a model train convention looking to bring their A game. Mild hilarity ensues.
