The UConn and Villanova game last night had one of the more frantic endings of the year. The game was pushed to overtime in Philly after a late turnover allowed UConn to tie it up. In overtime, things got more wild. Here’s the spectacular ending with Sean McDonough, Jay Bilas and Bill Raftery on the call, with ONIONS!!!

You gotta appreciate the “ole” defense by UConn that allows Villanova’s Tyrone Johnson to go the length of the court to tie it up. But obviously, the real star of this clip is Shabazz Napier’s DEEP game-winner from closer to the “V” at half court than the three-point line that he swishes with .2 seconds left. For good measure, Napier even busts out the three monocle after hitting the big shot.

It’s a good thing Napier hit that shot because it never looks good when a shot from nearly half court goes up with time still remaining on the clock. It somewhat reminded me of Napier’s teammate, Roscoe Smith, and possibly my favorite recent sports blooper.

Be sure to appreciate the facepalm behind Calhoun 28 seconds into this clip.
