Schadenfreude: Satisfaction or pleasure felt at someone else’s misfortune.

Announcers rarely get the opportunity to revel in the glory of epic schadenfreude. I’d imagine that it’s probably considered in poor taste by their employers and within the industry.

Luckily for Chris Fowler and company, the stars lined up as they were able to add live commentary to this epic meltdown by Marco Baghdatis. Rather than running from the hilarity of this tantrum, Fowler embraces the moment and goes with a more light hearted approach. At the end of the day, destructive rage can be entertaining at times so why not just sit back and enjoy rather than adding to the tense moment?
