NBC airs commercial spoiling Missy Franklin's backstroke gold medal

Written by Matt Yoder on .

In case you haven't heard, NBC has faced a wee bit of criticism for their tape delaying of this year's Olympics.  Just a wee bit.  However, there are indeed some individuals out there that are successful in their endeavor to not have results spoiled before enjoying the primetime broadcast.  Maybe they don't believe in having the internet or cable.  Maybe they don't have a Twitter account.  Maybe they have 9-5 jobs.  Who knows.  However, not wanting to leave those people out of the spoiling brigade, NBC managed to air a commercial celebrating Missy Franklin's gold medal in the 100m backstroke minutes before Franklin's race was scheduled to air.  Oy.  At least we're all on the same page now.

Anyone who really expects NBC to do anything but rake in their $$$ is dreaming. The ONLY thing the network cares about is the money. Somehow any ratings that come out, and all criticism will end up with NBC doing their best to put a positive spin on everything the manage to screw-up.

I guess it's a good thing we DVR the coverage and don't start watching until after the Bedtime Battle so we can fast forward through the commercials.
