Of course Skip Bayless is not impressed by Michael Phelps

While NBC has been criticized for crafting fictional drama in their primetime coverage during the Olympics, we all know the sports show that sets the bar in fiction and make believe... First Take.  While you (hopefully) haven't been watching First Take during the Olympics, it's time for us to fulfill our watchdog duties on the insanity coming from the self-proclaimed worldwide leader in sports and their resident carnival barker, Skip Bayless.

Today, Skip Bayless went on a national television show today and said he wasn't impressed by the greatest Olympic champion of all-time, Michael Phelps.  Phelps has won a record 15 gold medals and a record 19 overall medals.  He's the most decorated athlete in the history of the Olympics, going back to 1896.  And yet, like the cartoon character that his television persona is, Skip Bayless can say whatever he wants outside the realm of logic and reason.

Indeed, Bayless indeed went on national television and said Michael Phelps is not in his Top 100 athletes of all-time while "embracing debate" this morning.  Any more details of the conversation and Bayless' position would surely make your head explode.  It would make your brain want to leap out of your skull and run into a crowded intersection so as to not have to cope with the pain anymore.

Just consider this your public service reminder that this stuff still airs on ESPN and to avoid it at all costs.  We watch so you don't have to.  J-Woww & Snooki do fake reality better anyways.

Do they get this stiff out of WWE lets just take the most absurd position and stick to it like we believe it. What garbage ESPN. How can we take you seriously when you air this crap.

@awfulannouncing The guys on PTI also said that Phelps is not the greatest, but, you know, they were much smarter about their opinion...

@awfulannouncing I bet he thinks Women's Gymnastics team is overrated and can't win the gold.

@awfulannouncing Did he say Tim Tebow could win every Olympic event by himself?
