Video: Another classic Aussie Rugby League finish
If I ever come back in a future life, I'd want to come back as an Australian sports fan. Not a tree or a butterfly or anything like that. Why an Australian sports fan? Because of clips like this. It was back in March we shared with you this amazing finish and amazing commentary from the NRL (National Rugby League) Week 1 clash between the Sydney Roosters and South Sydney Rabbitohs. On that occasion, Sydney scored a try in the dying seconds to steal a win.
Monday, the rivals met again in Round 19 and South Sydney returned the favor, except with twice the drama. The Rabbitohs trailed by 10 with just 2 minutes to go. They would need two tries (4 points each) to tie or win the game, depending on the conversions (2 points each). Imagine an NFL team trailing by two touchdowns with two minutes to go, it would take a miraculous set of circumstances to win the game. Well, that's just what South Sydney accomplished. The fact that it was the second such improbable finish between the two this season is all the more extraordinary.
What makes this clip even better though is once again the frantic, excitable, manic, energetic (HELLO!) call from Dan Ginnane and Peter Sterling on TripleM radio in Australia.
