Poor Adam Scott. The Aussie was ready to win his first ever major championship leading the British Open by four strokes with four holes to play. That's when Scott put his name not amongst the list of major winners, but amongst a more exclusive list of individuals that have lost majors with an epic collapse. Scott bogeyed each of the final four holes while Ernie Els made a dramatic birdie on 18 as part of a final round 68 for his fourth major win. Els shot 32 on the back nine to put to rest some of his own demons from the past several years. He's also only the 6th golfer to ever win the US and British Opens at least twice a piece.
But your heart certainly goes out to Scott, who unfortunately didn't get any sympathy from a BBC reporter after the tournament. The interviewer took the opportunity to drive the stake further into the Aussie's heart with, "that run of three bogeys, that didn't help you at all, did it?" Ouch.

Too bad Scott isn't a fan of Bill Engvall, then he could've responded with a here's your sign joke for that most obvious of all obvious questions. (By the way, it was four bogeys, but who's counting.) It's a good thing the interviewer's face wasn't seen, because I believe she was also doing this off camera.
At least Scott handled the interview like a true pro. If only he had shown that kind of composure on the golf course instead of merely the post-tournament interview.
