Metta World Peace is taking his talents to Lifetime
Metta World Peace has certainly been on a roll recently. There was his Ron Artest relapse at the end of the regular season that led him to clock James Harden with a vicious elbow. Then there was his debut as "Metta Man" a superhero who flew on a skateboard and flung curling rocks among other bizarre attributes. Then, poor Mr. Peace got Labor Day confused with Memorial Day, but then again, who among us hasn't mixed up their holidays? Aren't you embarrassed when you try to carve the Thanksgiving pumpkin or set out milk and cookies for the Easter Bunny to come down the chimney?
But, this news.... this new venture by Metta World Peace might take the cake. This summer, Peace is set to debut in a made for TV movie on the Lifetime Movie Network. And shockingly, this time the scary looking guy isn't the villain on a Lifetime movie, at least, not this particular guy! No, Artest is set to play a detective in a movie based on a novel by Headline News anchor/author Nancy Grace. TV Guide has the details:
Peace will make his acting debut in a movie adaptation of Nancy Grace's first novel, The Eleventh Victim, set to premiere in the fall on Lifetime Movie Network. Peace will set down his basketball to play Garlan Fincher, a Georgia detective who works very closely with Atlanta Assistant District Attorney Hailey Dean, played by Beverly Hills, 90210vet Jennie Garth.
Apparently, according to TV Guide's William Keck, Grace and World Peace became fast friends on Dancing With the Stars, where many low-level Hollywood types seem to find themselves these days. Seriously though, World Peace's role doesn't seem to be just a cameo. Hopefully MWP's acting chops are slightly better than his rapping skills. If this works out for MWP maybe he can branch out to other high-quality cable TV movies. I hear there's a sequel to Jersey Shore Shark Attack already in the works.

Tonight Marty Snider was the sideline reporter for the Knicks at Bobcats game And woking the Spurs at Warriors game with Kevin Harlan, was NBATV's Greg Anthony and sideline reporter Jamie Maggio!
I really don't have a problem with TNT choosing the Spurs at Warriors game as the late game because the Lakers at Kings was their only other choice!
If they don't show bonus coverage of the other games that have Playoff implications during the Knicks at Bobcats game however, i will be dissapointed because they have 11 games starting Thursday at 8 ET!

How about just posting the games on national TV without making LAME, USELESS jokes FOR ONCE? To be fair this regular season went by fairly quickly. Go whine about the lenght of the baseball regular season, too, then, since it lasts, what, six months? which is even longer than an usual 82-game NBA regular season.

Ummm no (though you're technically correct on the Heat/Wizards game), standings are tight which means that when playoffs teams play each other there will almost always be a team losing playoff positioning, but there also is a team gaining positions at the same time. Had the Lakers lost you would be saying they lost positions in their battle with the Clippers for home-court advantage and the Pacific crown (the Lakers have just a half-game lead over the Clippers now). So no matter who won or lost in the Lakers/Thunder game (but also the Hawks/Knicks game earlier in the day for that matter), someone would have gained playoffs positioning and someone would have lost playoff positioning.
Do you even watch the NBA AT ALL or just post the first thing you come up with hoping that nobody in your audience catch your lack of knowledge about the subject?
By the way, gotta love the way you guys on this site blow things way out of proportion on just about any topic.
Again, the Spurs won and secured the 1st place in the western conference? Did they lose playoff positioning? No.
The Grizzlies keep winning in their quest to get an higher seed. Did they lose playoff positioning? Nope.
The Nuggets won and climbed ahead of the Mavs in the western conference standings. Did they lose playoff positioning? Again, no.
So, some teams dropped in the standings and some others climbed up. As it should be in a tightly packed race. Which means it's not true teams are battling each other to lose playoff positioning.
TNtT also sad on Inside The NBA last Thursday that they are having the final day of the NBA Regular season for the 1st time in the last 10 years and that everything must go!!
Charles Barkley complained that NBA Commisioner David Stern gave the Golden State Warriors too many National TV games this year and ERnie Johnson and Kenny Smith asked him don't you like Mark Jackson and he replied yes i like Mark Jackson, i just don't think that the Golden StateWarriors are a good enough team to be on National TV as many times as they were thisyear and than Charles Barkley says after that Woo-hoo! We finally get too ee theCharlotte Bobcats on National tv and than Ernie Johnson said So you were the 1 campaigning for the Charlotte Bobcats to play on National TV!
Ernie Johnson also said that they will be showing bonus covarage and live look-ins at the NBA games that have meanings and important significance to the NBA Playoffs this year too! So if there is a game that has any importance or significant to the NBA Playoffs you should expect to see some of it on TNT during the final day of the NBA Regular season this year!
