Screengrab Snafu: The LA Kings get Steve Nash!

Written by Matt Yoder on .

There is just something about the Los Angeles Kings and snafus.  The reigning Stanley Cup Champions were the victim of a record number of goofs, botches, and awkward moments in their playoff run.  We had PA botches, confusion with the Sacramento Kings, screwing up players' names, and even spankings.  But alas, finally, with a Stanley Cup, the shoe is on the other foot and it's one of the Los Angeles Lakers being confused with the Kings!  Forget Nash teaming up with Kobe Bryant, the Lakers are past their prime, LA is a hockey town now.  CP24 in Toronto reported the stunning news that Steve Nash was traded to the Kings in a history making cross-sport blockbuster.  Who did the Suns get back in return?  Dustin Brown?  Jonathan Quick?  Paulina Gretzky?  By the way, I think CP24 doesn't have enough graphics and tickers going, it's just not... busy enough for my liking.

I've always said that February is the worst month on the calender. They have the Super Bowl (for the past 3-4 years) and .......NOTHING!

@amichaelsThat isn't entirely true AMichaels they normally have the NBA and NHL Regular season and every 4 years they have the Winter Olympics in February!

@amichaels You forgot college hoops which completely erases your argument for February being the worst.  College hoops>Pro hoops.

There's also the Daytona 500.  I'm not a big racecar racing guy, but I recognize the significance of that race every year.

I think that July is pretty bad too, because the only Sporting Event the day after the MLB ALl-Star Game, Is the Triple AAA All-Star game and why do you say that that was a fake opening day that started this year's MLB Regular season??

Even though it actually counted in the MLB Regular season standings and does that also mean that the Cardinals game at the Marlins on Wednesday was a fake Opening day too??

Because that series was a 1 game series to begin the Regular season for both

teams!

not only that, but 13 teams started their MLB Regular season yeterday and the final 13 other MLB teams who didn't play yesterday, started their mlb Season today!

Meaning that MLB scheduled 4 different Opening Days for all 30 clubs to begin this year's MLB Regular season!

April has a great start, but other than that it's overrated.  Not really much on during the weekdays.  I'll watch playoff basketball and hockey on weekends, but I'm not going to blow my time when not every game is a must watch.  Wake me when they get toward the end of the conference semis.

I agree with you August is the worst month - but it leads to the fall sports which are amongst the best sports to watch.  (Not play, watch)
