Tebow trade gets the Taiwanese animation treatment
Written by Ben Koo on .
By now you've probably seen the quirky news animations by Taiwan's Next Media Animation. If you haven't, I'm glad you finally got internet access in your cave.
Fast on the draw on the heels of the Manning signing, Tebow trade, and New York media fallout is a new clip recapping it all. Be prepared to see a terrible rendering of Peyton Manning (he's wearing glasses), a Tebow with angel wings and a halo, and a cheetah running around on the football field. Now that Manning has signed and Tebow has been traded maybe Skip Bayless can talk about what's the better import from Taiwan between these videos and Jeremy Lin?
"Oh that's right, because Alabama going 1-1 against LSU this year "protects the regular season.""
To be fair, I think most of the people who want to "protect the regular season" would have preferred Oklahoma State got in instead of Bama. Personally, I think with some outside-the-box thinking, we can get the best of both worlds.
I go to an FCS school. We were picked to finished in the bottom half of our own conference. We finished 2nd in the nation and narrowly lost the FCS National Championship game, our only loss of the year. At least we were there and we played our way there. If we used a BCS system we woulda been passed over for a sexier team. Instead we got a fair shot and we fell short but left no doubt who the best 2 teams FCS were. Maybe people look down at us as an inferior product but I say it's the opposite. We may not be as sexy as the big schools but we know how to crown a real champion. The only bias is in selecting the playoff teams but even that doesn't matter. The fact that they are selected for a bracket means a team that was snubbed for a top seed can still play their way to the top.
@VictorE.Quintana Let me guess: Sam Houston State? I watched bits of that game. I was surprised they didn't take the whole thing. Of course, the head coach of the championship winning North Dakota State was a longtime former Husker assistant coach so...
@crippenstation Their coach has experience and success at the FBS level. Our coach is a championship winning coach in D2 and the Junior College level. Both are winners but I think you can argue that we got out coached by a more experienced team. That was the difference. People have said the 2 teams could play again tomorrow and it would be a totally different result. We don't completely buy into that here at SHSU, we believe the FCS playoff system produced an undisputed champion and we are fine being number 2 because we know we'll have the same opportunities next season.
Point being anyone who follows the FCS closely will tell you SHSU was supposed to be best of the bottom feeders and played our way to the top and the championship. You gotta admit if SHSU was in the FBS and had the same out of nowhere season to go undefeated there like we did here, we'd finish in the BCS polls somewhere between 10 and 6 with no chance in hell of making the Championship.
You mentioned Bruce Feldman, there's a vid of him analyzing the game on YouTube and cbssports.com with Lauren Shehadi. Worth a look.
And I kinda moved on after mid-second quarter. Alabama had a great defensive showing, no question. But LSU just quit.
And Alabama fans are celebrating their BCS Championship by ripping... the BCS. Have you seen those championship shirts? ("We Won The One That Counted")
