Straight Outta Stockton - Week 12
Written by Matt Yoder on .

This week's Straight Outta Stockton could easily be renamed Straight Outta Aikman as the lead NFL on Fox analyst had a rough time during yesterday's Saints-49ers game. While a few of those are noted below, I have to pay tribute to the work Aikman is doing to the English language. Multiple times during Sunday's telecast, Aikman said "I don't disagree" when talking about Jim Harbaugh's call to start Colin Kaepernick instead of Alex Smith. Aikman could just agree with the decision, but perhaps that's too risky of a ledge to step out on. Aikman's use of unnecessary double negatives is almost reaching Gruden's "this guy" level. It's been impressive this season.
Tom Jackson on the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday NFL Countdown- Seattle may be a Playoff team. They have 3 division games left. They play all of them in Seattle where they are almost unbeatable. They need to find a couple of wins on the road. I think Miami and Bufalo may qualify.
Chris Berman on the Lions, Cowboys and Jets all losing Thanksgiving Home Games on Sunday NFL Coundown- That's almost a quarter million fans who went to these games. They all went home upset. All 3 Home teams lost- what a waste.
Keyshawn Johnson on the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday NFL Countdown- They are not a very good football team- not good at all.
Mike Ditka on Jim Harbaugh pickng Colin Kaepernck over Alex Smith as the 49ers starting Quarterback on Sundau NFL Countdown- Harbaugh is doing what he thinks he has to do for the best of this team. He thinks that Kaepernick has a higher ceiling, and that's why he's doing it, but he'll use both of these guys before it's over.
Dan Patrick on the Chargers on Football Night in America- For San Diego, at 4-7, we say goodbye and Tony Dungy on the Chargers on Football Night in America- And maybe thankfully goodbye, that was awful.
Michael Irvin on San Francisco 49ers head Coach Jim Harbaugh's thought process when deciding which Quarterback to star on NFL Gameday Highlights and NFL Gameday Final- The 49ers have reached their ceiling with Alex Smith. They are at their floor with Colin Kaepernick.
Michael Irving on the impact Plaxico Burress can have for the Pittsburgh Steelers on NFL Gameday Morning- You tell Plax go to the corner and play some Basketball during the Football game. We're tossing it up, you catch the ball.. That's what he can do.
Michael Lombardi on Atlanta Falcons Quarerbak Matt Ryan's recent play on NFL Network's 1st on the field- He has thrown 8 interceptions in 2 games, but the Falcons won both games. Matt Ryan is going to take some chances. I like his mental approach and toughness. It's like a pro golfer:
You're going to make some bogeys but you have to find a way to make some birdes.
This weekly column has really taken a crap since Cubsfan is the only one posting. But, anyways, the Al Michaels comment about the game not being over yet with the score 37-10 referred to the over/under.
AMichael i agree with you, because whatever happened to all of the Tweets for NFL Announcers mistakes for the last 2 weeks???
Mike Ditka- I am 6-5, i might as well improve to 6-6, i am picking the Panthers tonight during Game Picks on Monday Night Countdown.
Suzy Kober- I am picking for Stuart Scott this week and hope that we are on the same wave length, because i am picking the Panthers during Game Picks on Monday Night Countdown.
Mike Ditka- Seahawks/Falcons, excuse me Seahawks/Dolphins on C'mon Man on Monday Night Countdown.
Al Michaels- There is now a buzz in the crowd, because the game isn't quite over yet, that's right, the game isn't quite over yet when the Giants were about to score and already beaing the Packers 37-10!
Al Michaels-It was the dead zone the other night talking about the Jets in the Red Zone against the Patriots on Thursday!
Cris Collinsworth- What's that game called? Telephone? Where the message gets skewered between the 1st and last person to get the message, while that's what i think happened there.
Al Michaels- Sending a slumping Field Goal Kicker out to kick a 55 yard Field Goal, is a lot like sending out a Pinch Hitter in a slump, to hit a Home Run!
