Only Terry Bradshaw knows what he was trying to say when he described this Reggie Bush touchdown as "chasing a bucket of chicken."  I take that back.  I'm not sure even Terry Bradshaw knew what he was trying to say here.  Bradshaw's highlights are like a verbal Jackson Pollock painting, just without the artistic value.  Virtually anything can come out of Bradshaw's mouth at a given time during a highlight as evidenced by the video above.

I don't think Terry Bradshaw was trying to say anything racially charged or offensive in this case… but it sure doesn't sound good.  The reaction from Michael Strahan and Curt Menefee on set is one of disbelief as awkward laughter fills the set.  While Bradshaw's country bumpkin routine has survived for years, maybe it's time to hand the highlights off to Curt Menefee.  At least for a week or two.

UPDATE: Bradshaw's Fox colleagues, including Curt Menefee, have come to his defense on Twitter, saying the comment was directed at Jimmy Johnson.  While that's apparent from the video as part of some sort of inside joke and Bradshaw's comments had no malicious intent, the point is that it was a clumsy thing to say over the highlight.  Bradshaw has apologized in comments to USA Today this afternoon and Fox has said they will take no action.
