Your ESPN college basketball Tip-Off Marathon announcing schedule

One of the coolest things ESPN does every year is its 24 hour college basketball Tip-Off Marathon.  For college basketball fanatics, it's a unique way to start the season with 24 straight hours of basketball on ESPN networks starting at midnight tonight and running through Tuesday.  For insomniacs, at least it gives you some variety of programming options at 4 AM to go along with infomercials and House reruns.  This year's slate kicks off with West Virginia at Gonzaga and ends with a doubleheader from the Champions Classic - Michigan State vs Kansas and Duke vs Kentucky.  It'll also be our first chance to hear Bob Knight call a Kentucky game as he joins Dan Shulman and Dick Vitale on the call...

ESPN had the Temple Owls Head Coach Wired for the Temple Owls at Kent State GoldenFlashes game and ESPNU had both the Witchita State Shockers and VCU Rams head coaches Wired for that game too!!!

For those of you that were curious, the 2nd game of tonight's StateFarm Classic on ESPN, just had Dan Shulman, Dick Vitale and Andy Katz as the sideline reporter and didn't have Bob Knight as a 2nd analyst for the game like ESPN MediaZone said that it would!!!

The begining of this afternoon's game between the Butler Bulldogs at Xavier Musketeers game was moved from ESPN to ESPNNEWs starting at 4:04 ET, due to the Saint John's Redstorm beating the Detroit Titans 69-64 with 1:41 left in regulation!

I like that ESPN does this. I would like to tape the games because I'll be asleep and I would watch the games that start at 2am and 4am even though Im not the biggest college basketball fan.

@Giantsfan1982 Or you could watch them on ESPN3 on-demand if your internet provider provides that service.  Save yourself some disc space on that DVR.  :)

I am suprised that ESPN is using Bruce Pearl as a live game analyst, because didn't they sign him to mainly be a studio analyst???

Anybody else notice that Fran Fraschilla is working 2 games???

1 game as the only analyst and 1 game as 1 of 2 analysts???

@CUbsfan Yes, and they outline why on ESPN Media Zone. They will also be doing travels with Fraschilla during Halftime as he travels from the location of the 1st game and picks up the 2nd analyst for the 2nd game he'll be broadcasting, who is a long time friend.

ESPN isn't the only group doing games though on Monday night/ Tuesday morning. In fact BYUtv has a BYU-Hawaii game on tonight at 12:30 AM.

I have a full list of all of Monday and Tuesday's men's college basketball announcing assignments up at Eyeonskyandairsports.blogspot.com.

Thank you Daniel and it also says that the 2 Champion's Classic games are part of Journey to the Tourney which is a season- long spotlight on games that will have an impact on the NCAA Championship and that Bob Knight will feature his coaching expertise as he watches each game evolve from his own analysis area.

He will offer insight during the games on what he sees as well as provide analytical "'x's and o's"breakdowns with his Knight Vision franchise.
