James Bates must be a fan of Young Jeezy... or Jay Bilas

Written by Matt Yoder on .

Jay Bilas finally has some company on the "sports announcers using Young Jeezy lyrics" market.  Listen as CBS Sports Network play by play man James Bates quotes Jeezy on San Diego State's game winning two point conversion this weekend against Nevada.  The Aztecs went for two and the win in OT (check the 2:13 mark in the video) and after a successful conversion, Bates busts out "scared money don't make no money!"  Actually, given the situation it's a totally applicable, funny, and brilliant call.  (I can even overlook the fact that he called the two point try a touchdown.)  In fact, it's the best application of Jeezy lyrics I've seen in the sports world.

Your move, Bilas.

P.S. Stay tuned until the 5:37 mark for a bonus classic pop culture quote from Bates.

I enjoyed James Bates as a player and now as an announcer.
