More amazing John Sterling bloopers!

Written by Matt Yoder on .

Like manna from the heavens, it's more John Sterling bloopers!  Last week we unearthed ten minutes of sterling gaffes (*doffs punnery cap*) and this week there's another brand new collection also put together by Youtube user viteminj.  If any announcer is worthy of earning "elite" blooper reel status, it's John Sterling.  This compilation is nothing short of an American treasure.  We find the voice of the New York Yankees botching home run calls, double plays, balls, strikes, and even mixing up his own beloved home run signatures.  Included in this mashup is a clip I've never heard before from 2009 where John Sterling uses his "A Bomb" home run call for Hideki Matsui instead of Alex Rodriguez.  Awkward!

@jgriffiniii Oh you think I don't remember most of these. Guy's got a gift. Learned from Rizzuto.

@awfulannouncing maybe it's just me, but I don't need my PBP guys being over the top cheesy. Sterling sucks. Give me Marty any day. #reds

@Schopptalk I heard Greg Gumble, after the Browns gained 38 yards on a play, add: "and a first down!" Like that was necessary
