Screengrab Snafu: TBS doesn't know Willie Mays either
Written by Matt Yoder on .

Last week, it was TBS calling analyst Cal Ripken Jr. "Carl." This week, it was Willie Mays' turn. In a graphic showing players who have played in the postseason both before they turned 24 and after 40, TBS managed to mangle the name of one of the all-time greats of the sport. Perhaps they were thinking of Willie "Mays" Hayes and just got confused on the spelling.

Actually they asked Cal Ripken jr.. if he knew that they spelled his name wrong and he said that he didn't notice it untill his daugter Tweeted it out to all of her friends and than continued by saying that that wasn' the 1st time that that has happened to him and that he has a lot of Junior Baseball trophy's from when he was a kid that say that his 1st name is Carl and not Cal at home on Inside MLB after game 1 of this year's ALCS between the Detroit Tigers at New York Yankees from Turner's Atlanta Georgia studios and on his 1st day back after working as a 2nd analyst for TBS's coverage of the 1st ever AL Wild Card game and the ALDS this year!!!
TBS obviously doesn't have baseball fans in the graphics department, or if they do...they must not be in any kind of check/proofing role.
