Audio: Bobby Valentine wants to punch WEEI's Glenn Ordway in the mouth!
Things have not exactly gone according to plan in Bobby Valentine's first season in Boston. Smiles and thumbs pointing upward and optimism are now merely distant memories. With the Red Sox well out of the postseason chase and in firm rebuilding mode, the manager of the Boston Red Sox went on WEEI's Big Show and the fireworks began immediately. Host Glenn Ordway asked Bobby V about "checking out" and Valentine responded by saying, "If I were there right now I'd punch you in the mouth."
Delightful.
After that exchange, there's still 20 minutes of Bobby V melting down for our enjoyment. Nobody, and I mean nobody, could have predicted this happening in Boston this season... right? Maybe Bobby V needs to grab a beer and some fried chicken and just relax a bit. Seems like the stress of the Red Sox job is getting to him.
