Hope Solo alleges Dancing With The Stars is rigged
Somehow, more than a month after publication, Hope Solo's memoir is still producing explosive headlines. The USA goalie has left no stone unturned in the "bombshell revelations" department with her autobiography released in August just after the USWNT won gold at the London Olympics. Let's run down the list so far...
-Accused former coach Greg Ryan of shoving her.
-Destroyed Brandi Chastian. Again.
-Accused DWTS partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy of slapping her.
-Once kissed a girl.
But the latest news to trickle out from Solo's book is by far the most provocative. In fact, it's so explosive, I'm completely dumbfounded it took this long to begin to make waves on the internet.
Hope Solo claims Dancing with the Stars is fixed!!!!
A Radar Online story brings to light this passage from Solo's book about a conversation with her former DWTS partner about a secret memo deciding which celebrity pair would be eliminated each week. This revelation couldn't happen at a more awkward time for DWTS with the show's All-Star season kicking off this week. (In case you were wondering, Pamela Anderson got the boot last night, which makes you wonder about the effectiveness of a rigging policy.)
“Maks later told me that he had argued with the judges because he had been told we were going to be eliminated, that there was some secret memo going around that said who would be ousted each week," Solo wrote. “He explained that he wanted to cause some drama on the live portion of the show so that they wouldn’t be able to resist keeping us around, hoping for more fireworks.
“It seems to have worked -- we weren’t eliminated that week.”
Radar also says ABC is considering legal action against Solo for her accusations, so you know this situation is serious. The sanctity of Dancing with the Stars and a fabric of Americana is at stake!
Let's be real for a second though. Every reality-based show or competition you watch is fixed in some way. Survivor, Big Brother (especially Big Brother), The Voice, Pawn Stars, Hardcore Pawn, American Pickers, American Idol, The Kardashians, Honey Boo Boo, Storage Wars, Counting Cars, WWE, etc. All "reality" programming is carefully put together and manufactured by networks who are in the television and entertainment business. After all, that's how we got the Kardashian-Humphries nuptials.
Learing the results of DWTS are predetermined would be something less than shocking, but the show would rightfully be crushed for deceiving their millions of viewers for several seasons in thinking their votes played a role in determining the outcome of the show. Not to mention the dimes for those text message votes add up over time.

Of course its fixed. All reality shows are scripted. You don't just happen to have a camera following you around, especially when they're arguing. How else would they have kept Cloris Leachman and some of the other terrible dancers on when really good dancers were knocked off. Bristol Palin still stinks, but her mother draws the ratings up, although I don't know why. If a man critized the show, would there be so much flap. I think not.

I do not think "Dancing with the Stars" is fixed Hope. Albeit, if it is and Pamela Anderson was first voted off, there must many more ME's in the world. With respect to her, when you LOOK her age, you should not be flaunting it like that.
I figure any show that has Donny Osmond winning in a dance contest over anybody probably is fixed. Mya should have won that year because her dancing was near perfection.
The truth is though it wouldn't surprise me if during the shows seasons that there is a lot of crap going around about who's going to get booted from week to week. That sort of thing is very typical in the work place. And considering how rebellious Hope and Max were from the onset it doesn't surprise me if rumors were going around like crazy about them.
@paloftheworld I agree with your analysis of the situation. I don't think that the show is rigged, but it would not surprise me if there was talk of Max & Hope need to go. It would be just like Max to use that to get Hope to side with him. That whole thing was weird and I think Max & Hope was a match from hell.

DAncing w/ the stars is produced by the bbc...........british broad casting system... since its more that 7 miles out of u.s. waters.....it can be fixed with no reprocussions..just like idol!!!!!!!!

I dont know if it is rigged, but the networks can manipulate the event to do as it pleases. When watching it on tv, networks add cheering/boos/ect that are not the actual live crowd. They also adjust the volume of those cheers/boos. So someone they want to keep despite performance, they will have loud cheering during performance and post interview, someone they dont want...will have little cheers, lots of ewws and ahhhs, and maybe a few boos, even though the live audience may have been cheering the opposite in reality. Last comic standing is notorious for tactics like this.

Yes. I am sure Dancing with the Stars and Americas Got Talent are all rigged. Our government does nothing to stop this unethical practice or look into charges of corruption. Always new Max had a quick temper, not surprised if he slapped Hope. The judges did not treat Hope very well.

well just consider the source, she seems like a very bitter person set on trying to be noticed for making accusations against, well everything it seems. The fact that people are paying her any attention is ridiculous. It's like giving in to your child who is throwing a temper tantrum. Hope I sure "hope" you grow up one day soon.

She is a great athlete, but the girl can't dance to save her life. Actually, I don't know how she lasted on that show for so many weeks. Plus all the whining, the crying, urgh...

So what, it might be rigged, but "I have a hard time believing that they falsify the fan votes!" I'm a dreamer anyhow and I could be wrong, but I would be shocked to find out that DWTS falsifies fan votes to eliminate who they determine should go that week. Its one thing to be rigging their votes, but to outright be rigging the fans, that blows my mind! Need much more proof than here say to get me to believe that! www.4cyourdreams.com

If the show is rigged, then the producers will be smart enough not to make it too obvious. for example, if Pam Anderson didn't get the boot, it definately wouldve looked suspicous

I don't know whether or not the show is rigged...the fact that Bristol Palin lasted so long seems to point in that direction. But here's another bombshell for you, one that Ms Solo likely left out of the book. She STANK! I've watched DWTS for almost every season, and I don't think I've ever watched a more akward dancer. She seemed so mad every time the judges criticized her, but they were right, she was awful. She just can't seem to accept that.
THIS IS GREAT ! I AND THE REST OF THE COUNTRY, THAT WASTED MONEY FOR ONE SEASON (THE APOLLO & JULIAN SEASON) FIGURED IT OUT. THEY WERE GREAT! THAT WAS THAT LAST SEASON OF "REAL". First of all, quit yelling. Secondly, you actually spent money voting for a celebrity couple on a dance show? It's free to vote online. Hope's attitude on DWTS may have been what hurt her in lack of post-Olympiad product endorsements and advertising, so of course she's going to blame the whole thing on her dance partner and the show. I don't find anything "AMAZING" about someone who never owns up to her mistakes and blames everyone else for her bad behavior, performance, etc.

First, if you read the article, you will notice that she follows that by saying "Let's be real for a second, though". The writer was being facetious - do you need me to explain this word, too?
Second, how exactly do you pay for local channels? They are broadcast for free, in HD even, over the airwaves. You don't have to pay a dime for them.
Real Ricky Bobby, don't know where you live, but we have to pay for our local channels, even on hd. If we don't have a cable company that you pay for then you dont get them at all.
Many places in the country do pay for local channels. I live in such a place. I actually didn't know there will still places where local channels were free. Cherish your free TV! I'm sorry to say it might be going away at some point.
what? A reality TV show is rigged? Didn't this dumb broad watch season 1 when the soap opera chick fell 3 times and still scored 3 10's while John O Hurley danced flawlessly and got a couple of 8's.
Hope did nothing but pout and whine when she was on Dancing with the stars. Grow up, you lost, you were not the best stopping whining!
