Before today's Red Sox game in their first game back in Boston, David Ortiz unleashed a raw, emotional, awesome speech thanking the Boston police department and fans. He ended by saying "This is our f*cking city!" and encouraging a packed Fenway Park to stay strong. I think this is one time few people are going to complain about letting that get through the network censors.
UPDATE: Here's the official FCC response:
David Ortiz spoke from the heart at today's Red Sox game. I stand with Big Papi and the people of Boston - Julius— The FCC (@FCC) April 20, 2013
@awfulannouncing about time the FCC stopped worrying about this picky crap
@apsports89 love this
@awfulannouncing ...How Jeteresque...
@awfulannouncing A "fuck yeah" is the only way that could've been better.
@awfulannouncing yeah, they were certainly going to fine him for that. That would be greeeeat publicity for them
@awfulannouncing that’s everything that’s right with our country
Now if only the FCC would apologize for their childish behavior post-Janet Jackson then all is forgiven.
@awfulannouncing I wondered if that's what he said! Haha, yes!
@danreid casual, yet definitive.
@awfulannouncing I heard him loud and clear here in Ohio. He said it in front of the governor & many others. Not smart but ballsy.
@EricStangel Ortiz has the morals of a dead beaver.
@innismir to be fair, I think the Chairman can't officially speak for the FCC as a whole
@innismir maybe he'll claim he was responding as a private citizen. ;-)
