ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball is broadcasting the Dodgers-Red Sox game in Los Angeles tonight. Multiple reports from the stadium have said ESPN analyst John Kruk was taken from the broadcast booth due to some kind of medical situation and will not call the game tonight.
John Kruk was just taken from the press box here. He won't be calling the game tonight for ESPN. He was conscious and responsive.— Jimmy Bramlett (@JimmyBramlett) August 25, 2013
ESPN's John Kruk was just taken from the press box at Dodger Stadium on a stretcher. He was conscious.— Pete Abraham (@PeteAbe) August 25, 2013
We'll have more on this situation as it develops.
UPDATE: At the open of the ESPN broadcast, Dan Shulman said Kruk was "under the weather." According to a statement from the network, Kruk is in stable condition after being treated for dehydration:
"John left the booth feeling dizzy and was diagnosed with dehydration. His vital signs are stable and he's in good spirits. We wish him a speedy recovery.”
This explains why he's not in the booth this coming Sunday. They are going with just Shulman and Hershiser this Sunday, with Buster Olney once again on the field.
@Brava10 I harass Kruk all the time to, but I'm leaving this alone....for now
@awfulannouncing Not sure if Kruk has ever been stable. Glad he's OK, but kinda worried about those who carried him.
@awfulannouncing please update your site to make it mobile.
Your site loads so slow that I'm forced to use TheFumble and Bleacher Report for my sports updates now!
@awfulannouncing dehydration? I heard he was seen with Johnny Football last night.
@awfulannouncing painfully slow page load times
@awfulannouncing I think it's time to upgrade your site to mobile friendly, too. It's bloated for mobile users and takes too long to load.
@awfulannouncing sounds a little different than Manziel's dehydration
@awfulannouncing Your links don't load. Looks like a lot of people are having the same problem. Do better.
@awfulannouncing it's called hungover in these parts
@awfulannouncing Either the server can't connect or you're getting choked with traffic. Either way, it's time to upgrade.
@awfulannouncing your links don't load for me
@LarryVonKurtze That'd be good. though dramatic.
@awfulannouncing your site has good content but is consistently slow, unresponsive, & unformatted for mobile...frustrating for your fans
@awfulannouncing Like "on a stretcher" carried out or "escorted by security" carried out?
@awfulannouncing site isnt working...
@awfulannouncing thoughts and prayers to Krukie.
@PoppySears I didn't make a joke, but I expected others to, stay classy yourself.
@nsbombers I love the content but the site is so frustrating.
@Brava10 know you didn't...was just sayin for those who might! Good things
