It can't be easy trying to manage 53-plus overgrown children with six- or seven-figure bank accounts, and the New York Jets PR staff is trying as hard as possible. It's arguably the toughest job in the NFL, given the history of problem children the Jets have produced in recent years. Plus, there's that whole "media capital of the world" thing.
In order to help their players with the media process, they've handed out "media bridge" cards that contain suggested phrases to use with reporters.

"Your audience would be interesting to knowing [sic] that" is a personal favorite. The rest aren't too bad, but nobody will ever use that with the media. Besides, who in the media wants to get a quote with that in it? You realize we're looking for sound bites and statements that don't sound manufactured, right?
Again, I can see the rest of it being said, but it also seems like common sense. Just more silliness from Gang Green.
The media has no one to blame but themselves. They have lost rapport with the players because they use half quotes or take statements out of context.
They have built this bed. Now they must sleep in it.
Why is this silliness? You do realize that CEOs of fortune 500 companies will often receive media training and provided bridge phrases. Anything a player says can be parsed and crafted into a story nowadays... hell Manish barley uses named sources for most of his pieces, preferring to go the "unnamed sources" route for anything controversial. In a media environment like today's this seems reasonable
