Mike Mayock is one of the best analysts in football, but his mind was clearly somewhere else for this play. Patriots QB Tim Tebow throws an interception against the Giants while a sideline interview is taking place. Mayock comes back and says, "that time a very bad throw there by Peyton Manning."
What the??? This is the first time anyone has ever confused Tim Tebow and Peyton Manning while throwing a football.
I can't quite blame Mike Mayock though. This just confirms what we all know - nobody gives a crap about the fourth preseason game.
@awfulannouncing Eli Manning was being interviewed on sideline seconds before.
@awfulannouncing I sent that to you yesterday, didn't you get my tweet?
@awfulannouncing I noticed that. At the time I thought perhaps it was a subtle bit of sarcasm
@awfulannouncing You morph Skip Bayless and Munchausen syndrome and there's your answer.
"nobody gives a crap about the fourth preseason game."
The owners do. They sold a lot of tickets to all those games last night, and at the same price as that game for first place in mid November.
At least it would have made sense if he called Tebow "Eli Manning" because he was the one being interviewed.
