Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Andrew McCutchen has had a very good year. He's been voted as National League Most Valuable Player. His team went to the playoffs for the first time since 1992. And now he's engaged to be married.

McCutchen appeared on "Ellen" this week and after making a bit of small talk about his season, Ellen DeGeneres asked him if he was "single or dating." Andrew quickly pointed to his girlfriend of four years, Maria Hansloven, who just so happened to be in the studio audience. He then asked the producers to play a video in which he professed his love for her. Very nicely done.

After the video was finished playing, Ellen summoned Maria to the stage where McCutchen proposed to his girlfriend.

Of course she said yes. McCutchen must have been very confident that Maria would not reject him. He reportedly bought the ring from a Pittsburgh jeweler which he endorses

No word on the wedding date. Congrats to the very happy couple.
