Michelle Beadle's name hasn't popped up too much lately on the sports radar after the former SportsNation host has had an apparent falling out with NBC Sports with the cancelation of her NBCSN show The Crossover. However, her name has been seen in headlines in a place you wouldn't expect.
Beadle was reportedly involved in an incident at WWE's Tribute to the Troops taping in Washington last week. Beadle will serve as the host of the show, which is airing on NBC later this month. On Thursday, Beadle sent out a couple of tweets indicating that there had been some friction in her life.
Lost another friend to CGFN....crazy girlfriend neutering. It's real people. Check your buddies. Affects everyone.— Michelle Beadle (@MichelleDBeadle) December 12, 2013
The disease affects men. They are castrated and become shells of their former selves. Hug your brother. ;-)— Michelle Beadle (@MichelleDBeadle) December 12, 2013
Then on Sunday, Beadle elaborated with details about the incident...
(1/4) Once and once only: I've known CM Punk for years. Considered him a friend. When I saw him at the arena, I said 'hey f&$?face'. The— Michelle Beadle (@MichelleDBeadle) December 16, 2013
(2/4) exact same way I talk to everyone. His girlfriend was no where near this. And I kept walking along with my assistant and two members— Michelle Beadle (@MichelleDBeadle) December 16, 2013
(3/4) of WWE PR. Next thing I know, I'm being yelled at. I honestly thought it was a joke. Period. The event went on and it was amazing. So— Michelle Beadle (@MichelleDBeadle) December 16, 2013
(4/4) I hope we can move on from this ridiculously lame 'story.' As for the crazies, BLOCKED! And Happy freaking Holidays!!!— Michelle Beadle (@MichelleDBeadle) December 16, 2013
A report later surfaced that the CM Punk's current girlfriend, WWE diva AJ Lee, was the one who caused the ruckus by confronting Beadle after she spoke with Punk. Whatever happened, it appears Lee is going to be disciplined in some way because the confrontation caused quite the scene backstage. This is WWE's feel-good event of the year and it's now getting marred with talk about an incident involving one of the company's champions and their guest host for the event.
At this point, controversy seems to be following Beadle wherever she goes. Since this is the world of sports entertainment we're talking about, here's guessing it leads to some kind of WrestleMania match between Beadle and Lee.
@awfulannouncing she needs the Packers O line to bed her again and relieve some of her tensions
@CrimsonFlavor ...a work. However, WWE TV hasn't mentioned Punk & AJ being an item. I'm leaning toward a work.
@CrimsonFlavor I saw it on Twitter last night but this the 1st blog report that I've seen. For her to tweet about it, this would seem to be
@LanePiffin lmao u need to tell CM Punk that
@awfulannouncing beadle is a has been. 5 years and 58 botox shots later we will see her back at espn.
@awfulannouncing yeah I’d prob watch Beadle vs AJ. Steel cage?
@awebster84 I am torn...the 2 loves of my life! Settle it in the cage
@awfulannouncing I bet she makes a quirky face after all said and done
@awfulannouncing was Aaron Rodgers there? She likes her some Aaron Rodgers
@awfulannouncing Beadle is making friends everywhere she goes.
I'm surprised they don't hire her. She'd be a good interviewer and she's pretty hot too. She has mainstream appeal and let's face it, what is she doing now that her show got canned? Besides Access Hollywood but she's a contributor not the host.
To be honest, the thought of Michelle Beadle and AJ Lee having a cat fight has never crossed my mind. However that thought will now never leave it
@MagnumPrime I feel the same. Especially when the article entertained the idea of a match. Ur not gonna have a match if u have legit beef.
@bluesfan1972 @awfulannouncing I'd agree. She's interesting in that she doesn't have a real filter like all other talking heads. But it seems to be catching up with her.
@Giantsfan1982 And she actually likes Wrestling. She's a fan.
@CrimsonFlavor ...Brown to be part of Mania after the thing with CM Punk?
@CrimsonFlavor Well...guys work matches with other guys who don't like each other all the time. Vince is about the show. Didn't he ask Chris
@MagnumPrime Punk had a real beef, and truth be told, I think Punk would have literally beaten the sh*t out of Brown, for real. lol
@MagnumPrime I think the joke was kicked around in respect to Brown/Punk, but I doubt real contact was ever made.
@MagnumPrime That makes me think it almost has to be a work. Stay out of trouble and then blow up over some random comment? Work...
@CrimsonFlavor That's a good question.
@MagnumPrime Has AJ ever had any type of issues within the company? If true, her actions are totally out of left field.
@CrimsonFlavor ...I say it was worked.
@CrimsonFlavor I'd have to go back to Mr. T & Piper to try to find an example. If AJ doesn't drop that title or get squashed in the future..
@MagnumPrime True. But the folks who have honest issues, are also honest wrestlers. Can't recall a time where an "outsider" had beef/match.
