President Obama is probably as big a sports fan as any man we've had running things in the White House. He invites pretty much every championship team to come hang out, goes to quite a few sporting events throughout the year, and is often just talking about football, basketball or baseball. He's made a yearly appearance with Andy Katz picking both the men's and women's basketball tournaments.

Once he's done running the free world or whatever, Obama's decided he wants a shot at a slightly more difficult role: SportsCenter anchor.

The Commander-in-Chief told Disney chief Robert Iger he'd like to narrate the night's top plays:

"If you have any doubt as to how much of a sports junkie Barack Obama is, check in with the entertainment moguls who attended a private briefing with the president Nov. 26 before his speech at Jeffrey Katzenberg's DreamWorks Animation campus in Glendale.

At the end of the conversation — which touched on a myriad of topics, from piracy to Iran — Obama revealed what's at the top of his bucket list post-White House: "At least I know what I want to do when I retire … host ESPN SportsCenter's Top 10 list," Obama quipped as he turned to Disney's Robert Iger, whose empire includes ESPN."

We say why not? Wouldn't it be cool if the former President just hung out and did the SportsCenter Top 10 like, once a week? How great a break from a life in politics would that be?

One last question: don't you think it's weird that SportsCenter anchors are one of the few professions we've seen celebrity politicians emerge from? I mean, the closest we've ever gotten is Olbermann. Speaking of Keith, he surprisingly, lightly criticized Obama for the statement on his show Monday. And the news cycle goes on…
