Although he didn't get the week long celebration Michael Jordan did, Charles Barkley also celebrated his 50th Birthday recently. And he got something much better than a week of excessive and nauseating praise, worship, and adulation from ESPN – an appearance on The Price is Right!  Barkley played a special celebrity version trying to correctly guess the price of five items, including a vintage Kenny Smith card. Barkley eventually won $300 dollars for an audience member with his guesses…

He also appeared throughout the show Thursday helping a guy play Let em Roll with a chance to win a new car.  Hysterically, Barkley tries to get Nazir to take the money and not risk a second roll but Nazir goes against Chuck's advice and wins the car anyway!

But the highlight of Chuck's appearance was certainly his co-hosting of the Showcase Showdown.  I've never quite come to terms with Drew Carey as Price is Right host since replacing the great Bob Barker.  Maybe he should watch his back if Barkley decides to leave his Inside the NBA chair anytime soon.  You can tell how hard Chuck is trying to get into the Price is Right spirit with his enthusiasm selling a trip to Toronto and committing to all those basketball puns…

I'd love to see Barkley host The Price is Right on a full-time basis, if only just so he could take the inspiration putt on Hole in One (or Two).
