Here's Gus Johnson's first goal call for Fox Soccer
Written by Matt Yoder on .
I'll have a full recap of Gus Johnson's Fox Soccer debut coming after the game, but for now enjoy his first goal call - a Danny Welbeck header from a corner kick. Manchester United leads Real Madrid 1-0 in the first half. It's a solid, if not understated call from Gus, which must have shocked soccer purists who expected to be cleaning up his brain matter off the field.

Lol, the "football" huh, Jesus Christ.
Otherwise it was just fine. At least he's making an effort even if its clear he's not a football announcer.

@peteredmiston He's not a trainwreck, Barton is actually worse than him. So Gus not good, but not terrible.

@awfulannouncing Gus Johnson has gotta be one of my favorite announcers out there right now
@awfulannouncing I wish he could be this subdued when he calls football or basketball!
@awfulannouncing Your site won't pull up on my twitter app on my iPhone. Anything you know of I can do?

@awfulannouncing He's doing a great job so far, considering how much pressure he was under.
