Screengrab snafu: Felix Hernandez's new contract is legendary

Written by Joe Lucia on .

On Thursday, the Seattle Mariners and starting pitcher Felix Hernandez agreed to a seven-year, $175 million contract extension (an extension that is now in limbo due to issues with his physical). Well, NESN reported the extension this weekend as a one year, $175 million deal on their bottom line... which would be an all-time record in any sport. $175 million for one year? That's twice as much as Seattle's entire payroll for the 2012 season!

Leave it to NESN, the home of my Red Sox and Bruins. I'm grateful to have a station where I can watch my teams but overall, NESN's sports "coverage" leaves a lot to be desired.
