Many of you know that championship apparel for the losing team of a championship game or series often ends up being sent to developing countries. But what about championship apparel commercials for the losing team? Until now, I've never seen one but below is a commercial the has aired multiple times on NBA TV this evening.

While I'd love to get the championship shirt, towel, and hat that the Spurs wore "during their on court celebration" I'm guessing trying to purchase any of this merchandise would be futile. What's somewhat odd to me is that this spot seems to have aired about a handful of times without being pulled yet. I know it's the graveyard shift, but I would think someone at NBA TV would be able to nix this after a first or second airing but apparently not. Obviously the commercial raised some eyebrows on Twitter as seen below.

I am guessing this will be filtered out sooner than later, but we'd love for you to chime in the comments if you see this spot on NBA TV or elsewhere. Another reason why upon losing a championship game or series, it's probably best to implement a 48 hour media blackout.

H/T to Brandon O'Rourke for the heads up.
