Dan Dakich is popular with the ladies

Mike Tirico and Dan Dakich are quickly becoming an excellent pairing in the broadcast booth and did a terrific job calling #14 Ohio State's victory on the road at #2 Indiana last night. Dakich in particular shined breaking down the game and calling out players when need be, which is a rarity in college hoops. But his highlight was when a young woman held up a "Dan Dakich dated my mom" sign. It's probably a good thing Dakich stopped just short of sharing any beer pong stories.

I hate Tirico, so it's not a good pair

Wow - I couldn't disagree more. I think Tirico is the worst basketball announcer out there (he obviously doesn't even know the game) and Dakich gets worse every time I hear him. Early in the season, I thought he was doing alright, but last night was one of the worst-called games I've heard in any sport this past year. All Dakich does is whine about the officiating and how rules are different from the NBA, and which ones he'd like to change. Pretty much everything he said throughout last night's game was totally wrong (late in the game - "Aaron Craft will touch the ball 30 out of 35 seconds in every possession for the rest of the game" -- totally wrong- the Buckeyes were passing the ball all over).

Anyway, Tirico is just completely out of his element (if he even has an element) doing college basketball
