Don't even think about asking Tim Tebow any questions whatsoever
Written by Matt Yoder on .

This image emerged on the interwebs yesterday thanks to Romenesko from a Tim Tebow speaking engagement in Corpus Christi, Texas. The media covering the event were given a handy guide on what to do and what not to do at the event. Actually, they were given restrictions on covering Tim Tebow that would be on par with a dictator of a small country or principality...

In spite of the circus that's surrounded Tim Tebow, I still think he has a unique ability to deliver his message to people and be a positive influence... if his handlers get out of the way. There's nothing like seeing "Media will not be allowed to ask Mr. Tebow any questions before, during, or after he speaks" to take someone's personal image from likable and genuine and relatable to carefully crafted PR machine.
It seems to be a pretty outlandish set of strict guidelines for a speaking engagement by a backup quarterback in a mid-sized Texas town, doesn't it? After spending a year in New York, could the Corpus Christi press corps really be that scary?

What's that word that folks use..."hater?" I just saw Tebow speak. He's doing great things. I understand that you are all perfect, but not everyone else is...and Jesus still loves you too.:)
@ChrisThomasson7 he answers questions in normal interview press conf settings. The people that made donations didn't pay to hear media.
@PColaG8r Oddly enough he didn't answer their questions or sign autographs for them. Sounds like a real stand up guy.
@ChrisThomasson7 normally doesn't in those type of engagements. But he does all the time. helps lots of kids. Glad you got some clicks though
@ChrisThomasson7 he got lots of great coverage. No ego. Just protecting the crowd from the negativity of a bunch of media hacks.
@PColaG8r Well he managed not to get any positive coverage out of any of the kids he helped thanks to his over-inflated ego.
@ZaraTV Reminds me of the ethics questions from the J-School entrance interview. 20 years ago, would media agree to those restrictions?
@awfulannouncing this is all true. He was in Amarillo TX last night, same scenario. He took batting practice at WTAMU. No video\/pics.
@awfulannouncing our local sports guy got the Heisman on the walk from the the suburban to the elevator with his brother blocking.
@awfulannouncing I don't know what you guys are complaining about. They can still interview Brian Dennehy, so what's the problem?
@awfulannouncing The first rule of interviewing Tim Tebow is you don't interview Tim Tebow...
