Legendary Pittsburgh Penguins announcer Mike Lange is someone I wish we could feature more on this website. His unique, gravelly, enthusiastic calls are like nobody else in the business. (SCRATCH MY BACK WITH A HACKSAW being my personal favorite) Last night, the Pens beat the Maple Leafs 3-1 with all 3 goals coming in the 3rd period. For Pascal Dupuis' game winner with 2 minutes to go, we got two classic Langisms for the price of one.

jtpaterson, you are an uneducated, ignorant moron. Your comment proves you have never even listened to Mike Lange call a game. Or, you are just a Cryer fan.
No, quite the opposite actually; I simply do not enjoy Lange's delivery or his style. The random-as-planned comments, while original and humourous at their outset, have become tired, hackneyed and forced to the point of gimmick-worn-thin, in my opinion. That's all. I realize he has a following, and I appreciate it.... I'm simply not one of them. And as for a being a Flyer fan, you take that sentence back! ...I'm a Caps fan. (that has no bearing on my opinion, btw).
