Examiner.com will never be confused with The New York Times or even CNN, and perhaps one could forgive the online outlet for the above snafu – a news story on the Fab Five being allowed to associate with Michigan State again. Yes, we all remember Chris Webber and Jalen Rose suiting up for Sparty.
Har har, good for a laugh right? But what if I told you that was only the beginning and the entire article written by Shaunee Flowers portrayed the end of the ten year disassociation period between Chris Webber… and Michigan State. Seriously. The post has naturally been corrected, but here's how the introduction read late last night:
"The NCAA forced dissociation between Michigan State and the Fab Five has officially ended on Wednesday, reports ABC News on May 8. The decade-long punishment has ended for Chris Webber, Maurice Taylor and Louis Bullock and they are now allowed to re-associate with the school.
It has been ten years now since the Fab Five's contribution to Michigan State was struck from the record books. Maurice Taylor and Louis Bullock are eager to reconnect and become involved with the school again."
All in all, the article made 6 references to the Fab Five and NCAA sanctions being involved with Michigan State. Six! It's remarkable. Maybe the greatest achievement in screengrab snafu history. If you scroll down and look at some of the comments you can see the outlet being congratulated for its "spectacular journalism."
