This clip comes to us from a Senators-Red Wings CBC broadcast over the weekend from our friends north of the border. After a slashing penalty on Ottawa captain Jason Spezza, CBC analyst Greg Millen is irate over the call… until he isn't… but it's plays like this that drive people crazy. At least he has his bases covered!
First Reaction: "I don't blame him, it's a crazy call! Drives the players nuts."
Second Reaction (after replay): "Well, they gotta call that. The glove came off, it was right on the hand."
Third Reaction: "Spezza was a little mad because the official didn't really see it, but he saw the evidence and that was enough for him."
Sometimes replay can be an analyst's best friend… or their own worst enemy.
