Veteran NBA writer JA Adande recieved his first sideline reporting assignment Friday night working for ESPN.  While that sounds like a great opportunity for someone expanding their presence on television, Adande was faced with one of the most fearsome, frightening, intimidating tasks in all of sports.

Interviewing San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich.

Having your first sideline interview with Gregg Popovich is like taking your first major league at bat against Randy Johnson.  Nah, it's worse than that.  It's like being a small bird flying in front of a Randy Johnson fastball.  In the face of this monumental task, Adande tried to psyche himself up for the occasion…

So how did it go for the rookie sideline reporter?

Umm… uhh… not so good.

It could have been worse.  Pop could have bitten Adande's head off or something.  Welcome to the NBA sidelines!!!
