Out of all the head-scratching Mike Francesa clips I've ever heard, this may be the head-scratchiest.  While the pope was pontificating about the New York Jets quarterback situation, he pondered some veteran options for Gang Green to sign with rookie Geno Smith struggling.  Tony Romo isn't available.  Ben Roethlisberger isn't available.  But… the Jets could sign someone like… Gary Kubiak?!?

"You might be able to get a Kubiak, you want Kubiak to be your quarterback?  I don't think you do.  I think you want to go better than that.  Now is Kubiak better than what you have?  Absolutely.  But, do you want to go to Kubiak for your quarterback?"

Four times Mike Francesa mentions "Kubiak."  The only player by that name in the Pro Football Reference database is current Texans head coach and former Denver Broncos backup Gary Kubiak.  He last threw an NFL pass in 1991.  Then there's Jim Kubiak, who played Arena Football and does Buffalo Bulls games on the radio.  Other than that I have no earthly idea what Francesa who Francesa was talking about here.  Maybe Matt Schaub, who's the Texans QB and sits on Gary Kubiak's bench at the moment.

No, I've got it – it must be Alberto Kubiak!  That's it.  I didn't know anyone called him Al.
