The below quote from Mitch Williams is something that was reportedly said on MLB Network, via the @HeardOnMLBT Twitter account. If you don't know anything about baseball, Billy Hamilton stole a minor league record 155 bases last season. In 2011, he stole 103. This season in the minors, he stole "only" 75.

Wednesday night in Houston, Hamilton got his first start for the Reds, playing center field after being used almost exclusively as a pinch runner throughout his brief major league career. Hamilton stole four bases, pushing his season total in the majors to nine. Every time Hamilton has gotten on base in his major league career so far, either as a pinch runner or a batter, he's stolen a base, except for in his first at bat last night when he doubled and scored when Shin-Soo Choo singled on the second pitch of his at bat.

Oh, and he consistently got from first to second on Wednesday night between 2.98 and 3.03 seconds, faster than Rickey Henderson in his prime. So Mitch, does he still not look fast on the basepaths?

UPDATE: MLBN has provided us the full quote of Williams' commentary, which is basically the same sentiment. But in fairness, we'll post the full quote:

"To me, he just doesn’t look that fast on the basepaths, but from home to second right there, he looked like he was flying."
