There's already a few teams that look like contenders for the #1 pick in next year's 2014 NFL Draft, none moreso than the despondent Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jags are 0-2 with a total of 11 points in 2 games. Just how depressing is it in Jacksonville? The Orlando CBS affiliate ran a scroll during the 1 PM ET Dolphins-Colts broadcast APOLOGIZING for showing the Jags-Raiders game at 4 PM ET instead of Broncos-Giants and blaming league rules for inflicting pain and suffering on central Florida football fans…
That's… unprecedented and oh so cheeky. I can't even recall Michigan Fox stations doing that for Lions games in the Matt Millen era! Are things really that bad for this franchise? Jags fans are a notoriously feisty bunch, so I'm sure the WKMG inboxes and social media pages are filled with all kinds of colorful feedback today.
The Jaguars are a long way from duplicating 0-16, but this could be one torturous season in Jacksonville. Mark your calendars now for December 1st – Browns vs Jaguars. Instead of apologizing for that broadcast, I'm hoping NBC will flex the game so we can all enjoy the spectacle it promises to be.
